Attorney Amaris Dordar
Amaris Dordar is a California-licensed litigation attorney and former Fulbright Scholar-Diplomat whose practice centers on employment law, with particular emphasis on Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative actions and wage-and-hour claims.
Amaris graduated from Yale University, where she earned a B.A. in Religious Studies with high honors at the University’s 314th commencement. She then received a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard University before earning her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School through the accelerated SCALE Program.
Within the employment arena, Amaris prosecutes PAGA representative actions on behalf of aggrieved workers, pursuing civil penalties for violations of the California Labor Code ranging from unpaid wages and missed meal and rest breaks to misclassification, unreimbursed business expenses and unlawful wage statements. She manages the full lifecycle of PAGA matters—from LWDA notice drafting and pre-litigation investigation through discovery, motion practice, mediation, and court-approved settlement—and regularly counsels employees on wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims in both state and federal court.
Beyond her employment practice, Amaris brings a broad litigation background spanning civil litigation, immigration law, and commercial arbitration, drawing on earlier experience advising clients on corporate governance, private equity and corporate financing.
Fluent in Spanish and conversant in Mandarin, Hindi, Tibetan, and Sanskrit, she is especially committed to serving clients who have historically been underserved by the legal system. With an unwaveringly client-centered approach, Amaris is dedicated to delivering rigorous, principled advocacy grounded in integrity.
